ORIENTED POLYMER MATERIALS

Updates materials and polymer scientists on developments during the ten years since the previous book devoted to the subject. Provides information on the orientation of macromolecules that largely determines the mechanical properties of polymer materials, as well as on several of specific materials. Of particular interest are the largely review articles by two Russian contributors offering access to research that has not been available in the west for many decades. Among the topics are problems of the physics of the oriented state of polymers, x-ray diffraction by quasi-periodic polymer structures, morphology in oriented semi-crystalline polymers, polarized light scattering from polymer textures, and the nature of the crystalline and amorphous phases in oriented polymers and their influence on physical properties.
