商品簡介
Diesfeld (health studies, Auckland U. of Technology, New Zealand) and Freckelton (law, Monash U., Australia) present 24 papers from an international, though largely Anglophone, group of contributors conducting social research into the involuntary detention (widely defined) of people with mental illnesses or intellectual disabilities. The international legislative and regulatory setting is reviewed in the first few papers. Issues arising from absence of consent are then explored, in turn, in the medical and judicial settings. Specific legal criteria used for detention are then discussed and analyzed. The final section discusses the topic of mandated outpatient treatment.
