The Insanity Defense, the World Over

The Defense of Insanity, The World Over is the tenth in a series of books that examines and compares social issues or social problems from an explicitly comparative perspective. This volume examines and compares the criteria and procedures surrounding the defense of insanity across twenty-two countries.

Rita J. Simon is a University Professor in the School of Public Affairs and the Washington College of Law at American University. She is the author and editor of numerous books, including Women's Roles and Statuses the World Over (with Stephanie Hepburn, Lexington Books, 2006), and Adoption Across Borders (with Howard Altstein, Rowman and Littlefield, 2000). Heather Ahn-Redding is an Assistant Professor at Elon University. She is also the author ofThe Crimes Women Commit, The Punishments They Receive (with Rita J. Simon, Lexington Books, 2005).
