商品簡介
The subtitle, or perhaps the title, for this volume should read: "Critical review of Strzygowski and other historians of Armenian architecture." Maranci, who undertook this project as a dissertation at Princeton U., has written a comprehensive historiography of Armenian architecture with attention to the plans, theories, and approaches used over the years. Special attention is given to reviving the useful aspects of the work of Josef Strzygowski, whose anti-Semitic bias caused later historians to avoid his groundbreaking work in Armenian architecture. Many b&w plates and quotes from primary sources enrich the narrative. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
