商品簡介
Like most museums with collections of Egyptians objects, the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge, UK) has a collection of inscribed pottery sherds--most from the village of Deir el-Medina where the literacy rates were high and the local limestone plentiful. The collection arrived in three lots, in 1926, 1943, and 1946. While the bigger items have been studied, Hagen (Egyptology, Copenhagen U.) undertook to catalogue the entire collection, knowing that items that seem insignificant to one scholar could be vitally interesting to another. This volume contains the catalogue, each item described in text and visualized with photos and drawings--a total of 63 plates (some in color).
