商品簡介
Inspired by the work of Russian psychologist and educator L. S. Vygotsky (1896-1934), contributors identified only by name consider historical and philosophical issues around cultural historical theory that contribute to both practice and the advancement of a still emerging theory, then survey field applications that stem from the theory. Among the topics are advancing alternative understandings of Vygotsky and the cultural historical legacy, cognitive aspects of the transition from a traditional to a modern technological society, two case studies from Spanish immersion classrooms to demonstrate an integrated approach to studying transitions as learning activity, and faculty views of under-represented students in community college settings.
