商品簡介
For musicians and other readers with no technical background, outlines the science behind the production, propagation, perception, and understanding of music. The text is lively and informal, but unfortunately, incoherent and at times totally incomprehensible: digressions that could be interesting background become snarls of several topics at once; figures are wrongly described and vaguely labeled; pronouns are often without antecedent; and conclusions are drawn from broken logical progressions. A potentially fine contribution seems to have been brought low by the lack of a good editor. Part of the problem may be that Sunberg (speech communication and music acoustics, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm) translated himself from the third Swedish edition (1989).
