商品簡介
For graduate students, Gallardo (psychology, Pepperdine U.) et al. bring together a group of psychologists and therapists working with multicultural communities in the US for 19 chapters that demonstrate evidence-based culturally adaptive counseling skills in practice. They use a bottom-up perspective to understand multicultural communities and expand Parham's Skills Identification Model (which addresses working with African Americans) to include Asian, Latina/o, Native American, and Middle Eastern American communities. They identify basic skills that therapists can use with these groups and illustrate them through cases. Additional chapters address how the principles can be used as a teaching resource and with students in training, and how they fit into the larger multicultural discussion in psychology.
