商品簡介
Brocklehurst (U. of Wales-Swansea) begins by surveying some of the social and political criteria that are used to construct childhood in different cultures as well as the tools for reinforcing that construction. Then she looks at children in global politics from perspectives of state building and family planning; workers, laborers, and slaves; warfare; and conflict in the curriculum. Case studies cover Nazi Germany, Northern Ireland, and South Africa and Mozambique. Her theoretical conclusion considers the containment of the political and of the child, the interdependence of a child's world and the political world, and infant power.
