Philosophy of Education

The first edition of Nel Noddings’ Philosophy of Education was acclaimed as the “best overview in the field” by the journal Teaching Philosophy and predicted to “become the standard textbook in philosophy of education” by Educational Theory. Nel Noddings is Lee L. Jacks Professor of Education Emerita at Stanford University. She has taught at the elementary through college levels and has served as acting dean of the School of Education at Stanford University. An award-winning teacher and past president of the National Academy of Education and the Philosophy of Education Society, she is the author of numerous books on a broad range of educational issues.
