I was afraid The truth is,I was afraidthe day I walked into Stanford.And I wasafraid the day I walked out.
I was scared of leaving the protectivebubble of this place for places unknown,dur-ing uncertain economic times.And I wasscared of squandering the incredible gift of myStanford experience on pursuits that weren'tcommensurate with expectations I,and oth-ers,had of me.I was scared of not doing itall,of making irrevocable mistakes.
If you're scared today,let me ask youthis:What will you do with your fear?Will itbecome a motivator,or an;nhibitor?
You are the only one who can answerthat.But what I can offer as guidance,andreassurance,is a story:the story of oneStanford grad's process of stumbl ing andsearching to find a place in the world,often-times in the face of her fears.
I'd like to begin my story at the HistoryCorner
