商品簡介
The evolution of the annual cycle of feasts, fasts, and other commemorations in Christianity after its establishment by Roman emperors has been studied in Rome and Jerusalem but not in Cappadocia, an important province of Asia Minor in the Eastern Roman Empire, says Comings (liturgical studies, Drew U., New Jersey). Documents are available and have been used for other purposes, but here she looks at what they reveal about the liturgical year as it existed and evolved between the Councils of Nicea and Ephesus. The study began as her doctoral dissertation at Drew University. Annotation c2005 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
