This book was written as a catalog to the exhibition of Egerton's collection in 1880, at the South Kensington Museum (now the Victoria & Albert) in London and published by WH. Allen. (Today, the collection is divided between the V&A and the Tower of London). The catalog, which is illustrated with color and b&w drawings and photos, includes a lengthy history of the British conquests in India as well as details about the use of the arms.
