商品簡介
Both drawing and diverging from the humanistic intellectual climate of his time, French philosopher Geulincx (1624-69) sought to reinvest the classical approach to ethics with an input of Christianity. Wilson, who also translated his Metaphysics recently, presents the first English edition of the Latin De Virtute et Primus Eius Proprietatibus. The work was appreciated for its lyric qualities as well as its doctrines by 20th-century Irish poet Beckett. Annotation c2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
