An Anglican priest and practical theologian who directed the Women's Development School in Bunia, Congo during the late 1980s, Pemberton, introduces and critiques the writing of the Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians. She places the women's work in the historical context of the ideas and interventions that have circulated through the continent since the transnational Western missionary intrusion of the high imperial era, about 1880 to 1930. Among her topics are Mercy Amba Oduyoyes' theology of resistance and re- imagination, Catholic sisters in the circle, violence against women, and multiple identities. 作者簡介
Carrie Pemberton, Ph.D. (1998) in Theology, the University of Cambridge, is an Anglican Priest and practical theologian. She was Director of the Women's development school at the ISTHA in Bunia DR Congo, before returning to England to pursue her doctorate. She has written extensively in connection with her work in contextual and gender theology.
