商品簡介
This annotated study of the last command of General George A. Custer draws on official military records at the National Archives and on the work of Walter Mason Camp (the first historian of the Custer battle) to offer new information on Custer's career, African American interpreter Isaiah Dorman, and civilian packers. Brief alphabetical entries outline the military career of every enlisted man of the 7th Cavalry on the regimental roll in June 1876, giving birth and death dates and places and information on enlistment, physical appearance, and duties, as well as pension details. There is also a section of entries on Indian scouts; many of these entries are even more detailed than the entries on the enlisted men. Appendixes provide statistical tables for each troop and details on rates of pay. The book was originally published by the Arthur H. Clark Company in 2009. Williams has researched the 7th Cavalry and the Battle of Little Bighorn for many years. Annotation Ac2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
