商品簡介
Hungarian-British philosopher and critic Meszaros (emeritus, U. of Sussex) analyzes the thought of French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-80) and places it in the context of the 20th century. He intended the 1979 first edition to be followed by a second volume on the challenge of history, but other projects intervened, so that material is added here. Among his perspectives are the writer and his situation, the search for the individual, the world of Being and Nothingness, Levi-Strauss against Sartre, and the role of scarcity in historical conceptions.
