商品簡介
Dusek (biblical studies, Academy of the Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Charles U., Prague) explores the historical background of the Aramaic and Hebrew inscriptions discovered on Mt. Gerizim and published in 2004. He uses the inscriptions as a starting point for investigating the history of Samaria during the Hellenistic period. The community of worshipers of Yahweh there has long been in the shadow of its neighboring Judean community centered in Jerusalem. The inscriptions cast new light not only on the Yahwistic community in Samaria, he says, but also on the politics of the Ptolemaic and Seleucid rulers in the southern Levant after Alexander and before the Maccabaean revolt.
