Sheridan (Charles Sturt U., Australia) has revised her 2011 PhD dissertation in biblical studies at Australian Catholic University to make it accessible to a wider academic readership. She explores the many references and allusions to "the Jews" and the Old Testament in John's Gospel, not to weigh the positive and negative, but to search for a possible historical meaning to being Jewish. Her topics are literary critical approaches to "the Jews" in John's Gospel and the Old Testament citations and references to "the Jews" in the beginning of Jesus' public ministry, while Jesus was among the feasts of "the Jews," and at the close of Jesus' public ministry.
