JO ANGOURI is Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. Jo's areas of research specialization are sociopragmatics and discourse analysis. Her current research focus is on discourse in a range of professional and health care settings. She has published work on meeting talk, workplace written discourse and (foreign) language use and language policy in the corporate workplace as well as the application and implications of sociolinguistic research. Jo has just completed a project on teamwork and leadership in medical emergencies.
MEREDITH MARRA is a member of the Wellington Language in the Workplace Project team and a Senior Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where she teaches a range of courses in sociolinguistics. Meredith's primary research interest is the language of business meetings, and she has published in the areas of humour and gender in workplace interactions in Language in Society, the Journal of Politeness Research and Text & Talk. She is co-author of Leadership, Discourse and Ethnicity.
