St Pancras Burial Ground ─ Excavations for St Pancras International, the London Terminus of High Speed 1, 2002-3

Participants in the 2002-03 project describe the results of archaeological investigations at a cemetery in the London Borough of Camden during construction of a high-speed railway to the Channel Tunnel. The focus is on what is called the Third Ground, which lay at the southern end of the New Burying Ground brought into service in 1792. After an introduction to the project and context, the report covers settlement context, the chronology and patterns of burial, burial and population, funerary culture, and railways and recreation at St. Pancras.
