Ethics Beyond War's End

This collection of 10 essays is concerned with the question "Where is the jus post bellum?" They arise from a conference hosted by editor, Patterson (government, Georgetown U.), intended to bridge the gap between just war theory's pre-occupation with waging war and ending war. The essays take up post-conflict issues including the responsibility of occupiers, intrastate security after civil war, the assumption that the "just outcome" of war is a return to a pre-war status quo, the connection between how wars start and how they end, and ensuring reconciliation and not revenge as the outcome of war.
