Integrated Pest Management for Collections—Proceedings of 2011: A Pest Odyssey, 10 Years

The first conference ever devoted to integrated pest management in museums, libraries, galleries, and historic houses, met at the British Library in 2001. The gathering documented here demonstrates how the approach has changed over the intervening decade. Some of the presenters are the same, but many were inspired to enter the field by the first conference. Among the topics of the 27 papers are integrating integrated pest management risk zones and environmental monitoring at the Museum of London, how climate change will affect the future pest status of the brown carpet beetle Attagenus smirnovi, the problem of house mice in historic houses and museums, re-evaluating preventive measures and control strategies at the National Museum of Ethnology in Japan, and outsmarting the persistent moths at Nodiska Museet.
