Scholars in a wide range of humanities and social sciences explore the significance of the medium for the reception of Augustine of Hippo's (354-430) ideas from his own time to the present. The topics include three paradigmatic visualization of Augustine, Augustine on stage in the southern Low Countries in the early modern period, pseudo-Augustine and religious controversy in early modern England, St. Augustine in 20th-century music, and beyond the books of Augustine into modern psychotherapy.
