商品簡介
This is a substantially revised and enlarged English edition of a work published in Polish in 2005 (Warszawa: Instytut Studiow Politycznych PAN). Szlaifer (political science, Warsaw U., and Polish Academy of Sciences) engages historical context, a multidisciplinary perspective, and a comparative approach to study, as he states in his introduction, "...problems of the tangle of interests and economic motivations in the international context furthered through the mediation and with the participation of the state." He specifies that "...a preference for Weber and Marx-inspired historical sociology, the neo-institutionalist approach of the Douglass North variety--with its emphasis on state, power games and inefficient institutions--and the path-dependency argument will be clearly visible in [this] book."
