商品簡介
Wheeldon, a political science and criminology postdoctoral research fellow at Washington State U., explores alternative approaches to probation and criminal rehabilitation in former Soviet states of Eastern Europe. It focuses on community-oriented and participatory models and argues that probation projects offer governments opportunities to catalyze democratic values in their countries. He draws on interviews with scholars of justice reform in the UK, US and Canada. Each chapter is highly structured, with introductory and concluding sections, and self-contained bibliographies. Wheeldon also employs tables and other graphics, including both hand-drawn and computer-generated mind-maps. In the middle of the text and again at the end, he offers "intermission" sections with personal reflections. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
