商品簡介
This 8.5x10" coffee table art book presents newly discovered sketches, oil paintings, and photographs by Reuben Kirkham, an early landscape painter of the 19th-century West based in the Salt Lake Valley. Author Poulton, a curator at the University of Utah's Museum of Fine Arts, offers a lively narrative account detailing Kirkham's early years in poverty, his travels, and his involvement in the Mormon Church. Much of the art in the book is in color, while photos taken by Kirkham, including self-portraits, landscapes, and portraits of Native Americans, are sepia-toned b&w. The book includes a chronological catalog of all of Kirkham's works. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
