The main goal of this book is to help planning and public health professionals, policy makers, and citizens understand why it is important for government and school districts to work together on school siting and capital expenditures. The book shows how school siting choices can contribute to better health and quality-of-life outcomes, in terms of traffic safety, respiratory health, and opportunities for walking and bicycling to school.
