商品簡介
Agricultural and rural development initiatives are frequently characterized by a failure to understand the significance of gender issues and this problem is at least in part due to the gender irresponsive curriculum at the educational institutions where agricultural and rural development students are taught. This work seeks to overcome this lack of understanding by explaining current gender issues in agricultural disciplines from international and local points of view, focusing in particular on issues of relevance to Africa. The author addresses the gendered aspects of division of labor and agricultural resources, agricultural policy and budget, agricultural technology, development programs, food security, information and communication technologies, and the environment. She also presents a gender responsive research methodology for agriculture and rural development studies. Distributed in North America by ISBS.
