商品簡介
Intertwining literary criticism, cultural research, and psychological experience, this subtle study has two aims: to examine the nightmare as a mental state using literary texts, and to identify the contributions that "nightmarology" can make to the study of literature. Khapeaeva (modern languages, Georgia Institute of Technology) closely analyzes the works of Gogol and Dostoevsky as well as Charles Robert Maturin, Thomas Mann, H.P. Lovecraft, and Victor Pelevin. The book was originally published in Russian and is here made available in English, translated by Rosie Tweddle and supported by the Mikhail Prokhorov Founcation TRANSCRIPT Programme to Support Translations of Russian literature.
