The Targumic Toseftot to Ezekiel

As part of a larger study to determine whether the 13th-century Aramaic Zohar was a product of an unbroken literary tradition dating to second-century Palestine, Damsma (Hebrew and Jewish studies, U. College London) presents a critical text, translation, and commentary of the Targumic Toseftot (a supplement to the Mishnah) to the book of Ezekiel. She offers a systematic treatment of these Targumic materials in relation to their linguistic profile, date, and provenance, as well as their historical and social setting, while also acknowledging the heterogeneous character of the texts. Alinda Damsma, Ph.D. (2008), University College London (UCL), is currently post-doctoral researcher and teaching fellow in UCL’s Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies. She also teaches Biblical Hebrew at King’s College London. Her publications include articles on Aramaic, the Targums, and Jewish mysticism.
