DCI Duncan, the intellectual investigator who runs the City Centre cases, is assigned to the murder. His investigation highlights the connections between the murder of Jack's mother and a link to Alex Harris, the victims lawyer.
As Duncan heads south to Milton Keynes it becomes apparent that Alex Harris is not what he appears and is now the prime suspect in the case.
Just as the trail appears to have gone cold Harris reappears and Duncan's investigation is on a dramatic collision course between past and present.
