商品簡介
This study explores the act of writing within and between the boundaries of 19th-century biblical criticism and fiction. The eight chapters reflect on Christian poetics after Augustine to Baur, Feurbach, Friedrich Strauss, and Victorian novelists of the 18th and 19th centuries, juxtaposing the image of Christ in Victorian biblical criticism against the image of Christ in fiction. It also shows how literature can inform theology and compares the literature and theology of that period to contemporary post-modern theoritical work. The author was funded by the U. of Glasgow but no specific credentials are provided. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
