商品簡介
Folks (Doshisha University) interprets the work of American writers whose depictions of traditional communities under attack by modernity are intended to demonstrate the need to preserve individual responsibility, intellectual tolerance, and conservative values. Writers under consideration include Edgar Allan Poe, Vachel Lindsay, James Agee, Flannery O'Connor, V. S. Naipaul, and Kent Haruf. For most of these writers, the idea of a place of refuge is associated with distinctive regions of the America, such as the South, the West, or the Midwest.
