商品簡介
This collection of twenty five articles on Scandinavian revolutionary politics explores current scholarship surrounding the era of Nordic revolutions in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Divided into sections covering revolutionary crisis and the renewals of monarchy, the transformation of political debate, commercial interests and political influence, and shifting boundaries of political participation, individual essays address such topics as the monarchy in the Swedish Age of Liberty, aristocratic notions of liberty and patriotism, merchant influence in Denmark and Norway and popular resistance in peasant communities in Norway in the eighteenth century. The work includes several gloss black and white reproductions and illustrations. Contributors are academics in history from Scandinavian and UK universities.
