Edited by Meier (science librarian, Penn State Univ.), this is a collection of articles from periodicals such as Scientific American, New Scientist, Smithsonian and Natural History. The first five chapters present a dinosaur primer, followed by a colorful portrait of today's fossil hunters. New developments, including the growing awareness of a bird-dinosaur evolutionary link are explored, along with a series of articles on whether mass-extinction can be blamed on an asteroid. The volume contains a bibliography of additional books, websites, and articles with abstracts along with an author index. No subject index is provided.
