商品簡介
Austrian-born Hugo Bernatzik travel writer, photographer, founder of the discipline of applied ethnology visited Southeast Asia twice in the 1930s, at which time he travelled to remote coasts, studied and notated the linguistic patterns of the coastal Moken people on the Andaman Sea, and photographed the Ahka and Neau people of northern Siam. Three scholarly essays chronicle some of his travels and accomplishments, but the bulk of this oversize book (9.75x12<">) is devoted to full-page display of Bernatzik's extraordinary b&w photos. Two previous Bernatzik volumes (on South Africa, and on the art of Southeast Asia) preceded this third and final volume of the set. Distribution is by the Independent Publishers Group.
