Introduction to Marine Biology

Karleskint (St. Louis Community College-Meramec), Richard Turner (Florida Institute of Technology), and James W. Small (Rollins College) offer a textbook for undergraduate students in a variety of disciplines and for biology students interested in learning more about the marine environment. The focus is on the ecology, that is, how marine organisms interact with each other and with their physical environment. In sections on the ocean environment, marine organisms, marine ecosystems, and humans and the sea, they consider such topics as the geology of the ocean, multicellular primary producers, marine reptiles and birds, intertidal communities, and oceans in jeopardy.
