商品簡介
Awo (statistical social and economic research, U. of Ghana, Legon) examines the damage to the tomato sector in the region caused by the 1981 World Bank and 2001 International Monetary Fund Structural Adjustment Programs. Imported tomato paste flooded the market so that local processors went out of business, leaving tomato growers no buyers. Local traders now dominate the market, she says, and manipulate it to their advantage over the farmers. She places the risks and power relations of local growing and trade in the context of the larger economy of Ghana and global trade policies. There is no index. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
