An investigation into the roots of Christian mission as it developed into the field of Christian missiology in the chaotic, terrible, and incredibly diverse three-hundred-year Spanish conquest of North American indigenous nations. This is more than just a history of the friars' missionary movement. It explores how the Spanish Catholic missionaries approached their work, but also to what extent their approach conformed to a particular theological perspective.
