商品簡介
Mitchell (English and women's studies, Temple U.) presents a biography of 19th-century British suffragist, essayist, journalist, theologian, and social reformer, Frances Power Cobbe (1822-1904). In recent years, Mitchell located extensive materials by or about Cobbe, including some 1,000 previously unidentified contributions to newspapers and periodicals, and some 500 archived letters among the papers of people to whom Cobbe wrote. With the support of Cobbe's descendants, Mitchell has utilized these materials to reconstruct Cobbe's life, family story, relationships with relatives, and actions as an adult, offering a more complete chronicle than the autobiography written by Cobbe herself in 1894.
