MICHAEL BROERS is Professor of Western European History at Oxford University, UK. His The Napoleonic Empire in Italy, 1796-1814. Cultural Imperialism in a European Context? (2005) won the Prix Napoleon of the Fondation Napoleon. He was a Visiting Member of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, USA, and is now a Major Leverhulme Research Fellow.
PETER HICKS is an Historian and International Affairs Manager, Fondation Napoleon, Paris/Visiting Professor at the University of Bath, UK. His book Clisson et Eugenie (Fayard 2007) won the 'Premio Luciano Bonaparte, Principe di Canino' awarded by the Town of Canino, Italy.
