Turning Points—Concepts and Narratives of Change in Literature and Other Media

Supported by the European PhD-Network "Literary and Cultural Studies," a program funded by the German Academic Exchange Service, a conference titled "Turning Points: Crucial Changes in Literary Theory, History and Genres" was held in Germany in November 2010. This volume arose from that conference and features 25 contributions arranged in sections focused on conceptualizing turning points in narrative theory, narratives of cultural change in literature and visual media, literary and cinematic life-writing, constructing turning points in literary history, and (de)constructing them. The two main editors are affiliated as follows: Ansgar Nunning (English and American literature and culture, U. of Giessen, Germany); and Kai Marcel Sicks (coordinator of the European PhD-Network "Literary and Cultural Studies."
