商品簡介
In this study, Donato (French, Clarion U., Pennsylvania) examines the ways in which J.-K. Huysmans' (1848-1907) characters deal with measured time and schedules. She also investigates the failure of Des Esseintes' (the protagonist of A Rebours ) aesthetic experiment and relates the novelist's construct of "spiritual naturalism" to his increasingly frequent and intense longings for his own medieval utopia. The text is based upon the author's doctoral dissertation. Annotation c2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
