Precup (mathematics, Babes-Bolyai U. of Cluj Napoca, Romania) provides a multi-level textbook introducing partial differential equations. The first part, on classical theory, can be used for a first standard one-semester course for mathematics students. The second part, on modern theory, is for a second course that includes distributions and many more results on Sobolev spaces, and uses them to treat boundary value problems for elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic equations. The third part is for an upper master course, and introduces semi-linear equations using theory based mainly on abstract results of nonlinear functional analysis.
