商品簡介
In their preface to this proceedings volume, editors Tait (U. of California at Irvine) and Matchev (U. of Florida) congratulate students attending the 2011 advanced study institute on their good fortune in entering the field of particle physics at a time when high quality collider and astroparticle data is available, and new discoveries are on the horizon or already rolling in. The emphasis at TASI-2011 (held June-July 2011, in Boulder, Colorado) was on Standard Model and Beyond-Standard-Model phenomenology, with application to the Tevatron, the LHC, and dark matter experiments. The volume presents lectures on two-component fermion notation and supersymmetry, mass and spin measurement techniques for the Large Hadron Collider, models of supersymmetry breaking, and calculation of dark matter properties in a generic model of particle interaction, among other topics.
