Elsevier purchased the publishing rights to the famed Netter art library and has a division dedicated to publishing up-to-date references with his illustrations at their core. The first edition of this two-volume reference to the nervous system consisted of two Netter volumes published in 1983 and 1986. This second edition is the seventh volume in the publisher's Netter program, and it revamps, reorganizes, and expands on the original but keeps Netter's extraordinary work as its basis. The first volume is devoted to the brain, and the second to the spinal cord and peripheral motor and sensory systems. The editors are affiliated as follows: H. Royden Jones and Scott L. Pomeroy (Harvard Medical School); Ted M. Burns (U. of Virginia); and Michael J. Aminoff (U. of California, San Francisco). Carlos A.G.
