Using first-person and third-person narratives, Lien Chao captures thirty-five years of recent Chinese history through the gripping story of Hu Nu and her generation as they survive both political repression and outdated attitudes to women. 作者簡介
Lien Chao came to Canada from China in 1984. She is the author of Beyond Silence: Chinese Canadian Literature in English, which won the Gabrielle Roy Prize for Canadian Criticism; Maples and the Stream a bilingual poetry collection, and Tiger Girl (Hu Nu), a creative memoir.
