商品簡介
Tighe (Chinese studies, U. of Melbourne) examines the area now known as the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region and its history as a political entity from the late Qing and early republican periods. During this time warlords and elite attempted to establish the province of Suiyuan, initiating questions of territoriality and possession as they developed administrations, argued over land reclamation and agriculture, dealt with poverty and education, attempted to create a uniquely Mongolian space, only to be overcome by the events around them. Tighe works from rarely seen primary sources and provides maps and a glossary. Annotation c2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
