商品簡介
Edited by Mario Mikulincer (psychology, Interdisicplinary Center Herzliya, IL) and Phillip R. Shaver (psychology, U. of California Davis), this textbook on social psychology is part of the Herzliya series on personality and social psychology from Israel. The contributors here are international, and specialists in presumably biological functions that contribute to or control human social behavior; the book deals very little with psychology in the classical sense of individual personality. The first section deals with the brain. Some contributors offer biomedical data (on oxytocin and vasopressin, for instance), others offer theoretical models of emotional processing (the PANIC and GRIEF systems, for instance). Some contributors offer evolutionary explanations with specific claims about human biology or evolution. Others offer functional explanations of social strategies, with no claim about whether or how the proposed idea is biological or genetic. Section 2 deals with infancy and development, section 3 with adult close relationships, section 4 with groups. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
